Hubbard S. Adams was appointed to the Indianapolis Police Department, August 21, 1854, one of the first men to serve as a police officer here. He served until May 19, 1873. Adams later served as a Merchant Policeman, 1874. His burial took place in the New Bethel Cemetery, January 3, 1882.
