Thomas Lee Henderson passed away and went to his Heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
He was born in Anna, Illinois to Homer and Helen Henderson. He grew up in southern Illinois and played football at Southern Illinois University after being chosen as an All-American in high school. He also was selected to play football for the Calvary Stampeders. He served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 1960's.
Tom served as a police officer for the much of his working career, starting in Washington, DC, then in
Cincinnati, Ohio, Watauga, Texas and finishing up his law enforcement career as a crime scene investigator and chaplain in North Richland Hills, Texas. He attended and completed graduate degrees at Tyndale Seminary and Louisiana Baptist University, achieving his Ph.D. in 2002. One of Tom's proudest professional accomplishments was his ordination in the Baptist church and later in the Evangelical Free church, serving as Pastor at New Beginnings Church in Quincy, Illinois for 14 years. He was also an adjunct professor at John Wood Community College in Illinois. He also spent eight years as a distribution center manager for the General Foods Corporation in two states.
He loved his family, friends and football. He competed in national powerlifting competitions and owned a gym, Fort Worth Health Club in the 1980's. His faith was a central part of his life and enjoying sharing Christ with others. He was a member of Christ Chapel Bible Church where he was active in the men's bible study, "Band of Brothers", and had also led many bible studies in his home over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joe and Bill Henderson.
Survivors: Wife of 36 years, Ann House Henderson; daughters, Lauren Henderson Terry (Peter), Shannon Lee Becerra (Frank) and Kimberly Sue Niles (Kip); brother, Bob Henderson and wife, Jackie; seven nieces and nephews along with their children; four grandchildren, Bradley and Travis Niles and Kelsie and Haley Becerra; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scofield Ministries, 120 CR 3222, Clifton, Texas, Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth or Unbound North Texas.
