W. S. Alley, born November 27th 1845, died September 15th, 1918, at the age of 73 years, nine months and 18 days at his home in Creek County, southeast of Stroud, of heart trouble. Mr. Alley was only sick about an hour, but had been troubled with his heart for sometime. He was in town last Saturday and apparently in good health and spirits.

Mr. Alley came here in the pioneer days from Indiana and homesteaded on what is now Alley's addition in east Stroud. Most of his claim being sold in town lots and small truck patches. He was loved and highly esteemed by all who knew him.

He leaves a wife and a large family of children and grandchildren to mourn their loss. The funeral services were conducted from the Stroud cemetery, Wednesday, September 18th at 3 p.m. by Rev. Brown pastor of the Baptist church. The deepest sympathy is extended the sorrowing family.

W.S. Alley, one of the most prominent farmers died at his home at t he Unglesbee Ranch Sunday afternoon after a few hours illness, death due to heart failure.

Mr. Alley was born November 27, 1845 and died September 15, 1918 at the ripe old age of 78 years, 9 months and 18 days. He has lived in the community for a number of years and has a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Stroud Cemetery, conducted by Rev. A.L. Brown of the Baptist Church. The deceased leaves a wife and five children, four boys and one girl.
