Funeral services for Mr. Roy James Taylor, Jr., of Wrightsville, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2 PM at the graveside in the Westview Cemetery, West Court Street, Wrightsville, Georgia. Reverend Norman Roberts, Jr. will deliver the eulogy.

Mr. Roy James Taylor, Jr. was born on April 17, 1955, in Dublin, Georgia to the late Roy James Taylor, Sr. and Ruby Dell Taylor. He was the oldest of seven children.

He attended West Laurens High School in Dudley, Georgia where he resided for many years. He went on to join the United States Army National Guard on November 30th, 1978, where he served his country 13 honorable years. He was a combat Gulf War Veteran from 1990-1991. He was also a dedicated employee at the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Center in Dublin where is he was known and loved by many of his fellow coworkers. Roy always had a way to make people laugh and smile. His witty humor would always bring happiness to others around him.

Roy was a God-Fearing Man!! He always tried his best to walk in the footsteps of the Lord by being a friend and a blessing to anyone he came in contact with. He faithfully attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and gave unselfishly his time, energy, and love to help support the mission that God granted him as a servant of the Lord.

On June 24th, 2021, Our So Gracious Heavenly Father called Roy James Taylor Jr. home. As Roy begins his life in Heaven, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. We are certain he is looking down upon us with his heart-warming smile and looking forward to the day we meet again at Heaven's Gate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy James Taylor, Sr. and Ruby Dell Taylor, and by his brother, Sammy Lee Taylor.

Roy Taylor is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Catherine Taylor; four daughters, Juwanda (Rico) Demmons and Shataya (Chris) Carithers both of Dublin, Georgia, Jessica (Mike) Hatcher of Ponte Vedra, Florida and Ramonda (Brandon) Warren of Atlanta, Georgia; three stepchildren, Aldrick (Shana) Horne of Orlando, Florida, Dareian (Brandi) Maye of Adrian, Georgia, and Vansheda Graddy of Wrightsville, Georgia; two Godchildren, Zylan King and Dream Dior; five siblings, Jimmy Taylor, Gloria Taylor, and Marcus (Latoshia) Taylor all of Dublin, Georgia, Claudia Taylor of East Dublin, Georgia, and David (Tonya) Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters-in-law, Olympia Graddy, Evelyn (Sheldan) Norris and Karen Graddy all of Wrightsville, Georgia and Stephanie Scott of Arizona; four brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Jeannett) Holmes of Thomason, Georgia, Terry (Kimberly) Graddy of Warner Robins, Georgia, Eric Scott of Atlanta of Georgia, Reginald (Rosalyn) Scott of Wrightsville, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
