Manfred Salzgeber was a German actor and filmmaker. He was head of the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival, co-founder of the International Forum for New Films and founder of several companies in the film industry, including the film distributor Edition Salzgeber.
Salzgeber and his assistant Wieland Speck created the Teddy Award, which has been awarded to gay and lesbian films shown in the Panorama section since 1987.
