Marie M. McDonald, 87, of Charleston died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born Sept. 3, 1916, in Cove. She was a homemaker and wife for 67 years and was the widow of the late David D. McDonald. She was a member of the Battiest Baptist Church in Oklahoma. Funeral will be at the Battiest Baptist Church in Oklahoma at 2 p.m. today with burial at Battiest Cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Willard Holmes of Lavaca; a grandson, Wendell Holmes of Charleston; a granddaughter, Kim Burton of Fort Smith; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Burton, Wendell Holmes, Kerry Adams, Rob Spradling, Kenneth McDonald and Steve McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be A.C. "Sonny" Williams and Jerry McDonald. Memorial contributions may be made to Battiest Cemetery Upkeep Fund, c/o Larry Cheek, P.O. Box 70, Battiest, OK 74722.
