Mrs. Nancy Booker died in Loraine Nov.9, aged79-resident of Illinois since 1852-many descendants
The following obituary of Mrs. Nancy Booker, who died at her home in Loraine last week Tuesday, has been handed in by her daughter, Mrs. Charles McClelland.
Nancy Ann Whittlesey was born in Butler County, Ohio, June 15, 1836 and died in Loraine, Adams County, Illinois November 9th, 1915, aged 79 years, 5 months, and 15 days. She came to Illinois with her parents in 1852 and was married to George W. Booker in 1854. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters. The husband and two sons preceeded her in death and there are still living of the children, Mrs. Christ Reece and Mrs. George Wiedmyer of Loraine, and Mrs. Charles McClelland of Mendon.
Mrs. Booker united with the Methodist church early in life and was a member of the same at her death. She was a patient and tried sufferer and left a testimony of hope, confidence, and trust in her Lord.
Besides her daughters she is survived by thirty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many neighbors and friends mourn her departure.
Her funeral services were held at the Dunkard church at 3 o'clock P.M. November 10th, conducted by Rev. H.F.Williams with burial in the old cemetery in Loraine.
