Judge Childs Wilcox died at his home in Fairview, Dallas county, last Thursday at the age of 86. Judge Wilcox was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Dallas county, having lived continuously at his late home for more than 60 years. He served through the Civil War under Gen. Forrest. He was a member of the Baptist Church for many years. Three daughters and two sons survive him. Mrs. Dr. Rutherford of Fairview, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Jno. L. Atkins of Little Rock, Mrs. Dr. T. D. Roundtree of Rockdale, Texas. Berry Willcox, of Argenta, and Gus Willcox of Fairview. Burial took place in Rock Springs cemetery, and the services were conducted by the Revs. H. J. P. Horne and E. Holt of this city.
