Stanley Oliver Davis of Millsboro was born in Millsboro to William Wesley Davis and Phoebe Thompson Davis Feb. 5, 1941. Stanley passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021.
William and Phoebe's union produced five children total, William "Bill," Maryland, Stanley, Preston and Joan.
Stanley worked in carpentry for most of his life. His first employment was with John Collins Company, then on to logging with Robert Jennings for countless years. Stanley was often found fishing, making jewelry and gardening. In Stanley's last days he enjoyed sitting under the shade tree, shooting the breeze with family and friends, cooking a special meal and taking long and peaceful drives along the scenic routes of Millsboro.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Stanley O. Davis Jr. (Tiny Tim); brothers, William "Bill," and Preston; and his sister, Joan. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Shaunna Mumford, Stanley Mumford, Tykia Weston and Kyla Dixon; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as a very close friend, Billy Jackson.
A service to celebrate Stanley's life will be held Thursday, July 1, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 437 N. Front St., Seaford, with a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the service commencing at 1 p.m. Professional services entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.
