Charles "Lanny" Graham, Sr., age 77, of Salisbury passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He had been in declining health for years.
He was born February 16, 1944 in Rowan County the son of the late Inez Medlin Graham and Carl Harvey Graham. Lanny was a 1962 graduate of West Rowan High School. He was owner/operator of Graham's Tree Service for 35 years and also worked for the City of Salisbury in the Landscaping Department. He loved making music, playing the drums and was a member of "The New Country Sounds" band. Lanny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his brothers Steve, Alan and Randy Graham; and son-in-law Rusty Benton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years Bonny Riley Graham; son Charles Lanny Graham, Jr. of Salisbury; daughters Michelle Benton of Rockwell; Stephanie Sides (Ray) of Salisbury, Crystal Melton (Jeff) of Salisbury and Jennifer Hall (James) of Cleveland; he had 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lanny will lie in state from 10:30-11:00 AM Wednesday (June 30) at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum with service starting at 11 AM conducted by Pastor Phillip Johnston. The family will speak to friends following service. Masks and social distancing are encouraged.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2255 E. Ridge, Salisbury, NC 28144.
