Gregory H. Francis, age 52 of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday October 30, 2007. He was vice president of Francis and Lusky/Leewayne Corp. He was a retired 12 year member of the Murfreesboro Police Dept.; a graduate of John Overton High School and TN Law Enforcement Training Academy; chairman of the Board of Crime Stoppers for several terms. He served on the Board of the Rutherford County Correctional Work Center. He served on the board of the National Kidney Foundation.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Francis. He is survived by his wife, Leigh Ellen Stephens Francis of Murfreesboro, his two children, the lights of his life, Ellen LisaMargaret Francis and Gregory Stephens Francis. Long time friends and caregivers, Shirley Minifee and Dr. William Pettus; Mother, Gladys Bronaugh and brother, Paul Francis.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Advent Lutheran Church, 2505 Manchester Pike, with Rev. Edward W. Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Murfreesboro Police Dept Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Horne, Clyde Adkison, Mark Wilson, Alan Miller, Donna Scott Davenport, Bill Davis, Carl Watkins, Terry Spence, Joanna Medlin, Randy Garrett, Roy Fields, Hiram Lester, Anita Flagg and Jerry Mayes.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Providence Christian Academy in memory of Greg Francis.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN (615) 893-2422
