Judy Kay Davis
AUGUST 31, 1956 – JUNE 24, 2021 (age 64)

Our beloved Judy Kay Monson Davis passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was born on 31 August 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Weston Lawrence Monson; her parents, James Alonzo Newbold and Frances Marcella Spitters; her brother, Ronald Jay Newbold; and her brother-in-law, Paul Stone.

Judy attended the University of Utah and received two degrees. The first Degree was in math, and then later a computer science degree. She was able to put her computer programming skills to use by working for Evans and Sutherlands, Gould Power Systems, and finally for Lowe's Hardware Stores. Working gave her many opportunities to live in other states and countries for extended periods of time. Working for Lowe's allowed her to move to North Carolina and fall in love with the people and the environment.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Judy served in many church callings including a full time Mission to France-Switzerland Mission. Judy also traveled to Europe twice, with Claudia Gale, a sister- in-law, and then with her father Jim. Judy loved her many cats and dogs over the years. We are sure she has been greeted by them in Heaven. She is beloved of her nieces and nephew for all that she did for them. Judy loved the Arts and especially going to musicals.

She is survived by her children: son, Max Davis (Sariah), Spartanburg South Carolina; and daughter, Katerina D Miles; her grandson, Andrew D. Miles, Salt Lake City, UT; her siblings: Robert J. Newbold (Sharon), Layton, UT; Terry G. Newbold (Annette), Bountiful, UT; Timothy Newbold, South Jordan, UT; Nancy Taplin (Keith), Carmel, NY; Mary Stone, Ogden, UT; her Ex husband Mitch Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Viewing ( at I PM) and funeral held at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106, on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm. The interment will follow at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park immediately after.
