Age 94, of Friendship Village, formerly of Bethel Park and North Strabane on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Beloved husband since 1951 of the late Marcie Miller; loving father of Michael (Christine), Daniel (Terri), and Sue (Carol Gouty) Miller; dear brother of Rosie (late Louis) Kuchinic and the late Patty who died in childhood; cherished Grandpap of Andrew (Amanda), Jeffrey (Ann Marie), Greg (Eugene), and Scott Miller, Matthew Hooper, Lindsay (Nick) Shoush, Emily (Tim) Gapinski, and Eric and Kyle Gouty and dearest Pap Pap to ten great grandchildren. Gil was the owner and operator of Miller Hardware in Bethel Park, McMurray and Elm Grove, WV. After purchasing the Bethel Park store from his father in the late 1950s, he and his wife, Marcie, opened the McMurray location in 1962 and the Elm Grove location in 1972. Over those years, they employed hundreds of people who learned many valuable life altering skills from their time at Miller Hardware, from the part-time retirees to the many high school and college kids to those who were career Hardware associates, some who even went on to own their own stores.
Gil had a passion for flying, and at one time, he owned and piloted a Cessna 4-seater plane. He was an avid golfer, a member of Valley Brook Country Club for many years, and enjoyed traveling with Marcie to far corners of the world. He was a member and staunch supporter of St. Louise de Marillac Church for more than 60 years.
