She was a member of Saint Henry Catholic Church. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and was a bank teller at First Federal Bank. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and golf and also enjoyed Lake of the Woods for 72 years.
Carol is survived by sons-in-law, Walter Rorick and Lee Povlock; grandsons, Matthew (Samantha) Povlock and Donald Rorick; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Margaret with a third on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Abbott; daughters, Marilyn "Lynn" Sue Povlock, and Karen Marie Rorick; and grandson, Paul Rorick.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Saint Henry Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
