Sandy Marie Stone Powell passed away at home Monday, June 28, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Powell was born September 29, 1956, in Kingstree, SC, a daughter of the late McIver and Bobbie Jean Martin Stone. She was married to Hartley Leland Powell, Jr. for 46 years. Sandy worked at W.M. Anderson Primary for 28 years, where she taught reading and math and was the director of the Afterschool and Summer programs. She was a faithful member of the Kingstree Church of God, where she was a former treasurer and Sunday School secretary. Sandy enjoyed travelling, cooking, reading, and decorating.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Katelyn Marisa Powell.
