Eva Delores Roberts was born March 9, 1944, to the late Prince and Alberta Roberts in Canton, MS. She was the youngest of seven siblings.

Her sisters Ethel Kemp, Princella Roberts, brothers Benjamin Roberts William Roberts, brother-in-law George Friley and Eddie McSwain, niece Yolanda Long and nephew Harold Long, Jr. preceded her in death.

Eva accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age and was baptized at Zion Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in Canton MS, under the pastorate of Rev. Clarence Goodloe. In the mid 1960's she relocated to Chicago IL and joined Allen Temple A.M.E Church, under the pastorate of Rev. Wilfred Reid, where she served as a choir member and a steward. She continued her Christian journey by uniting with St. Stephens A.M.E Church under the leadership of Rev. James C. Bailey, where she served faithfully until she was called into eternal life.

Eva graduated from Rogers High School in Canton, MS. After graduating from high school, she attended cosmetology school in Jackson, MS and received her cosmetology license. She continued her education receiving her associate degree in Early Childhood Development at Malcolm X College.

Eva began her career as a beautician, later on working in the Chicago Public School System as a teacher assistant until she retired.

Eva loved and dedicated her life to children. She believed in educating and nuturing all of them. This was evident by the many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she cared for and provided support throughout their lives. She would play board games, cook for and with them, always giving spiritual guidance.

Eva was always making a fashion statement by being well dressed. She found much enjoyment in cooking, baking, traveling, attending plays, concerts and was an avid sports fan.

Eva was patience, kindhearted, loving and a caring person, who lived and cared for her Mother her entire life. She would give her last just to see you happy; and was a God-fearing woman who knew God's word and prayed for everyone. She was loved by everyone she encountered.

Eva made her transition to be with the Lord on December 27, 2020.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving sisters, Vashtella P. Friley, Lou Ellen Mc Swain; sister-in-law, Louvenia Roberts; one aunt, Lucille R. Williams; one uncle, Henry Robinson; one god-daughter, Brittany E Long;one god-son, Gregory Baker; nieces and nephews, Gregory, John Jr, Valerie, Debra, Georgetta, Jeanetta, Patricia, Kevin, James, Eddie K, Keisha (Raymond Sr.); a host of great nieces and great nephews, cousins, relatives and friends; special cousins, Selena, Ida Jean and Mammie; and special friend, Mary and caregiver Lena.
