Matthew was born in Corbin, Kentucky on March 12th, 1989, son of Bruce Edward Summers and Loretta Lynn Tidwell.
Matthew was survived by his father, Bruce Edward (and Donna Gail) Summers; his mother, Loretta Lynn Tidwell; his wife, Angela Smith Summers; one daughter, Savannah Summers; two sisters, Elizabeth (and Jeffery) Spencer and Kerrigan (and Andrew) Fox; one step-brother, Steven Fields; his grandfather, Joesph (and Peggy) Westerfield; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Mchargue and Audrey Mchargue; his grandmother, Daisy Westerfield; one aunt, Joann Nunn; and one nephew, Ricky Spencer.
Visitations were held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 at the Laurel Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 in the Chapel of the Laurel Funeral Home with Bro. Ivan Siler and Bro. Zach Wilson officiating.
Burial followed in the Horse Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
