Beacon - Linda Marie Barry, a resident of Beacon and formerly of Peekskill, entered into rest on June 27, 2021 at her home.
Daughter of the late Marie and Raymond Hickey of Peekskill; beloved sister of Kathleen (Skip) Jaeger; granddaughter of the late Melvin and Loretta Boyce and William and Catherine Hickey.
Linda is survived by her husband, Sean; her son, Connor; her best friends, Kristina (Barron) Rathjen and Karen (David) Greener; her brothers-in-law, Brendan (Sue) Barry, Kevin Barry and Terrence Barry; her nieces, Brihkel Jaeger, Bridget Barry, Stephanie Greener (Victor), Leanne (Stu) Carnes, Sarah Rathjen, Amy (Rich) Turbe and Jennifer Rathjen; her nephews, Patrick (Kristin) Barry, Bryan, Christopher and Daniel Barry, David (Janelle) Greener and Adam Greener (Iyana).
Linda started her advertising design career at the Peekskill Evening Star in 1980, then moved on to the Blue Book Network in 1983. She went on to become the Blue Book's Publishing Operations Manager for The Who's Who in Building and Construction's Regional Magazines. Linda also volunteered her time designing material for the Dutchess Junction Fire Company and the Beacon Elks Lodge #1493.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, 325 Washington Street, Beacon. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the Beacon Elks Lodge, 900 Wolcott Avenue, Beacon following the interment. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Patrick J. Halvey of Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, LLC.
