Dorothy R. Yoder
EAST PALESTINE, Ohio -- Dorothy Rivers Yoder, 81, died April 22 at The Essex II in Salem.
She was a native of Glenwood, Ga., and lived in East Palestine since 1945. She attended Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga., and received her degree from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Ga. She attended graduate school at Columbia University, New York City, and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C.
She was office manager for the former Yoder Instruments for more than 30 years, retiring in 1978. She also taught in Peabody Demonstration School in Milledgeville, Ga., and Lyons, Ga. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Darlington, Pa., The Little Beaver Historical Society and Ohio Genealogical Society. She was the widow of Leonard G. Yoder.
SURVIVORS: two daughters, Katherine Yoder Joseph of East Palestine and Alice Yoder McDonald of Rockford, Tenn.; a brother, Robert E. Rivers Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Beverly Joseph Horsley of Columbus and Henry Hampton McDonald IV of Rockford.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 3 p.m. today in Glenwood City Cemetery.
