Ms. Lisa Luanne Hughes, 61, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. She was born on July 23, 1959 in Thomasville to the late Donald Lee Hughes and Lois Gordon Hughes. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Lexington and participated in the choir and Sunday school. Lisa enjoyed watching birds and deer in her yard and had a love for music. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her sister, Rhonda Smith and husband Pastor Vernon Smith of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Don Hughes and wife Myra, and Toby Hughes and wife Linda, both of Thomasville; two nieces, Tonya Frost and husband Scott, and Stacy Dehart and husband Joey; one nephew, Mark Hughes and wife Tanya; special cousin, Crystal Wright and husband Roger; four great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church in Lexington with Pastor Vernon Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church in Thomasville.
