Susan A. Barber-Edwards of Bloomfield passed away on June 23, 2021 after spending the day ocean-side with family. She was born on March 3, 1954, in Hartford, CT. She attended grade school in East Windsor and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Uconn. Susan worked with the town of Bloomfield for almost 30 years and got to know many children and parents as the town and then elementary school librarian. She recently retired as an Administrator for Carmen Arace Middle School. Susan loved spending time at the beach, especially with her family. She had a green thumb, loved her companion dog, Akeela, and enjoyed studying wholistic wellness.
Susan is survived by daughter, Niambi Mack and her husband Kevin, and her son, Jacy T. Barber-Edwards and his significant other Altagracia Vasquez Mariano; grandchildren, Dahlia Mack, Kevin Mack II, Jai Vasquez-Edwards; siblings, Hillius, Gregory, Jesse II, Douglas, Leonard, Brian, Phyllis, Justin; and her parents Ethyl and Jesse Barber. She has many nieces & nephews.
