Penny Diana Gill Brown, 47, a resident of Mt. Zion Church Road, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at her residence. She was born October 25, 1973 in Guilford County, NC the daughter of Ernest Gill and Brenda Hughes Gill Embler. She formerly worked with Thomasville Medical Center and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Penny loved traveling to the mountains and enjoyed ventures and rides on Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Penny enjoyed fishing at the lake and camp fires. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Gill; one sister, Patricia Pervez, and a step-grandson, Gavin Hicks. Surviving is her mother, Brenda Hughes Embler of the home; two daughters, Patricia LeAnn Smith of High Point, and Chasity Hope Hicks of Lexington; one sister, Beverly Renee Stair and husband Patrick of Thomasville; five grandchildren, C. J. Smith, Marley Smith, Karri Duncan, Nolan Duncan, and Olivia Duncan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville, NC with Rev. Patrick Stair officiating. The interment will follow in Clarksbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to be sent for Penny's expenses, c/o Beverly Stair, 1272 Mt. Zion Church Rd., Thomasville, NC 27360.
