Prince August Ferdinand of Prussia was a Prussian Prince and general. He was a son of King Friedrich Wilhelm I of Prussia (1699-1740) and his wife Sophia Dorothea of Hanover (1687–1757), and younger brother of King Frederick the Great (Frederick II of Prussia) (1712-1786).

He married Anna Elisabeth Luise, Margravine of Brandenburg-Schwedt (1738–1820), on 27 September 1755, a marriage which yielded seven children.

His parents, his wife and six of his children are also buried in this crypt.
