Jeffery Kelley Thompson, 63, of Olathe, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Jeff was born on November 17, 1957 to Robert and Juanita Thompson in Miami, Oklahoma. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1976. On October 6, 1984 he married Marva Jayne Olson in Miami, Oklahoma and they shared 36 wonderful years together.

During his career, Jeff drove 6.3 million miles and he received his 35 Year Safe Driver Award in October 2020. Jeff was also a Presidents Safety Team Member and Master President Safety Team Member with FedEx Freight. He was a road team captain for the American Trucking Association (ATA) in 2009 to 2010 and for FedEx Freight from 2018 to 2021. He was part of the State of Kansas Road Team as a captain from 2008 to 2010. Jeff won first place in his division at nine Kansas Motor Carrier Association competitions and was the Grand Champion at three of those competitions.

Jeff was a wonderful husband, father, and papa. He was a selfless man who's love, motivation, and focus was always about providing for, supporting, and loving his family. His weekends were dedicated to watching the grandchildren play soccer, basketball, and tball. He also enjoyed watching the girls dance. At every function, he made sure the kids got all the treats they wanted in order to make sure everyone was happy. He loved history and was an excellent mathematician and good at drawing.

Jeff is survived by: his wife, Marva Thompson, of the home; Addie (Richie) Johnson, of Olathe; Mollie (Tim) Cooper, of Olathe; Jeremiah Thompson, of Frederick, Maryland; grandchildren Gavin Johnson, Brylee Johnson, Ava Johnson, Henry Cooper, Hudson Cooper, and Harrison Cooper; siblings Joanne Manning, Jon (Nancy) Thompson, Joel (Mary) Thompson, James Thompson, Joe (Sally) Thompson, Jacob (Beverly) Thompson, Joy Thompson, and Jeanne Pettus; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents Robert and Juanita Thompson; brother Jack Thompson; and sisters Janie Thompson, and Jessica Miller
