Cameron Park, California - Don Morris passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 10, 2021 at the age of 88.
Don is survived by his 2 children: Robin Morris of Garden Valley, CA, Doneen Barone and Son-in-law Jay Barone of Dundee, OR, and his 3 beloved grandchildren: Justin Morris of Alameda, CA, Julien Barone of Melbourne, Australia and Isabella Barone of Melbourne, Australia. All 3 his pride and joy!
Don was born and raised in Concordia, Kansas where he met his high school sweetheart Donna Lash. They married after they both graduated with their BA's from Kansas State University. Don served in the United States Air Force after University where he and Donna were stationed in Braintree, England for a few years. It was there that they proudly welcomed their son Robin. They traveled extensively throughout Europe during their time abroad which set the tone for their life long love of travel.

After returning to Manhattan, Kansas, Don & Donna welcomed their Daughter Doneen. It is where Don's career in Insurance began with Safeco Insurance Company. He moved the family to Sacramento, CA in 1959 where Don enjoyed a successful career in the Insurance Industry for more than 60 years. In the early 1970's Don started Marc-Morr Insurance Brokerage with his partner John Marcarelli in Rancho Cordova, CA. Their business thrived and expanded through the early 1990's. Don was active in The Optimist Club for several decades and always enjoyed helping others throughout his life. Don & Donna eventually bought the home of their dreams in the Sierra Foothills perched on top of a ridge in Diamond Springs , CA where they enjoyed many happy years and memories with their children and grandchildren.
Don loved to stay fit lifting weights, push-ups, bicycled in triathlons, golf, cross country skiing and hikes in Lake Tahoe which was like a second home to the family. He loved nature, animals, people, international travel and most of all road tripping with his family and in later years with the absolute love of his life, Donna to whom he was married to for 60 years. Don was also her loving and devoted caregiver until her passing in 2015.
Don enjoyed a rich, full and vivacious life. He was forever kind, logical, helpful, possessed a great sense of humor and was a rock to many, for most of this life.
Don will be deeply missed and forever remains in our hearts. His ashes will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery where an intimate celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date.
