A PLUCKY OLD MAN.

Mr. Buckley, sen., of Lawloit, is a won
der. Although he had passed his eightieth
year he was shooting birds in the garden,
and his loaded gun was on the butt, and
resting on the ground, when a little child
came up and began to play with grand
father's gun. The gun went off, and Mr.
Buckley's hand, which was on the muzzle,
was blown to pieces. He was brought to
Nhill, where the doctor amputated the
hand, and attended to wounds in the shoul
der and side of the head caused by the
charge from the gun. The old gentleman
stood the operations' like a veteran warrior,
and is now getting quite well again.
