Ana Maria was born in Ciénega de Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico on January 20, 1932 to Miguel Gonzalez Sigala and Maria Dolores Ortalejo Macias. While growing up Ana Maria lived in Colonia km 99 where she would take a bus to a medical clinic and hospital in Ciudad Delicias to work as a nurse in training. Prior to this she worked picking cotton on the farms around Ciudad Delicias. In 1954 Ana Maria married Florentino Rodriguez and later moved to Deming, New Mexico in 1962. They had 6 children: Rosario, Olivina "Oly", Florentino "Chino" Rodriguez Jr., Maria "Lily", Elaman and Edgar. They lived and worked at Bowman's Chicken Farm. She also worked at Auburn Rubber Factory making plastic products. Ana Maria's passion was cooking for everyone. She did this not only at home for her family and friends, but also working at Belshore Restaurant, Holiday Inn and Si Senor Restaurant. In Deming, she will be remembered as the person that would give people "un shot" when they were sick (medical shot provided by doctor). We all will miss her love, smile and of course her world-famous cooking
