He was a member of Red Mountain Baptist Church and the senior adult class and also a member of the GTE Union. Mr. Parrish was a veteran of the US Navy. He was also a member of Durham Golden Gloves Boxing.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby L. Parrish; daughter, Dorinda Glasscock Laughinghouse and husband, Rodney of Rougemont; son, Norman F. "Butch" Glasscock and wife, Barbara of Cookeville TN; a daughter in law, Libby Glasscock of Durham; brother, Billy Melvin Parrish; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
