William Gary Kimbrel, 69, of Cullman passed to his heavenly home on June 25, 2021. A graveside service will be held 1PM, Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Oak Level Cemetery.

He was saved at an early age and baptized into the Baptist faith. He remained a lifelong Baptist.

Mr. Kimbrel was predeceased by his parents, William L "Bill" and Glady Davis Kimbrel of Cullman. He is survived by his sister Sharon Kimbrel Deck (Alan) and his nephew, Cary Alan Deck (Kathy) all of Tuscaloosa and his great-nephew, Joshua Alan Deck, a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

Mr. Kimbrel held several college degrees. He graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas; he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Alabama (an honor of which he was very proud) and he received a law degree from the University of Alabama. He also earned a Masters Degree in journalism from the University of Tennessee.

Following in his father's footsteps, Gary served in the US Air Force. After returning to Cullman, he had a long career at the Department of Human Resources.

Gary had a natural talent for music and loved playing his guitars. He also loved owning and living on family land that had been passed down through the generations, a farm of his beloved maternal grandparents, Lyda and Leslie Davis of the Oak Level community, and the farm of his beloved aunt, family matriarch, Mary Ellen Kimbrel of the Trimble Grandview Community. He had a heart for animals and was a man of honesty and integrity.
