Jean Lipscomb Morgan, long-time resident of Altus, passed away on June 21, 2021 at Integris Baptist hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. She was 61 years old.

Jean was born in Clinton, OK on June 16, 1960 to parents Curtis Lee Lipscomb and Charlie Mae Lipscomb. She spent her formative years there and later moved to Altus. Jean married her husband of 36 years, Codii Morgan Sr. on November 3, 1984 in Vernon, Texas. This union was blessed with the birth of five children; three daughters; Mikki, Camille and Juanita; and two sons: Codii Jr., and Jack.

Jean had a passion for helping others and earned a vocational license in nursing early on. She dedicated 21 years of service caring for patients at the Jackson County Memorial hospital in Altus and served as an instructor at the Vo-Tech for several years. After retiring from the nursing field in 2011, Jean worked for Wal-Mart until she completely retired in 2017. Shortly thereafter, she relocated to the Oklahoma City area.

In her spare time, Jean loved cooking, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. She also liked going to the casino, crocheting, hanging out with friends and, on occasion, going to Star Trek conventions. Jean was well-loved and highly esteemed by all who knew her. Her smile, kind-heartedness and thoughtful wisdom will be missed and were some of her best qualities.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Charlie Mae Lipscomb; one brother; Perry Lipscomb; and one sister, Ardell Lipscomb.

She leaves to cherish the warmth of her memory, her husband, Codii Morgan Sr.; three daughters; Mikki Morgan, Camille Morgan and Juanita Morgan; two sons: Jack Morgan and Codii Morgan Jr.; four brothers: Rev. Rick Lipscomb, Robert Lipscomb, Jackie Lipscomb and Derrick Lipscomb; one sister: Nora Ann West; seven grandchildren: Mikkayla Hill, Keonta West, Pharoah Grant, Prince Grant, Sovereign Grant, Aiyana Morgan and Tala Morgan; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and other family members.
