OBITUARY
WARRENSBURG, N. Y., THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1940
Injuries suffered Monday in an accident on the Lake George-Warrensburg road resulted in the death of Harry DeGrush, thirty eight, of Lake George, at 11:15 Monday night in Glens Falls Hospital where he was taken suffering from a broken left arm, fractured ribs on the left side, broken chest bone and cuts and hemorrhage of the lungs. The accident occurred about three miles north of Lake George when the south bound car in which Mr. DeGrush was riding, driven by Donald Burch, of Lake George, figured in a collision with a truck trailer owned by the George C. Collyer Company of Glenwood Avenue, Glens Falls, and driven by Harvey Stuernwahl, which was carrying a load of sugar to Saranac Lake. The tractor trailer was badly damaged and was unable to continue its journey. The Burch car was also badly damaged, and Mr. Burch received a minor abrasion of the left leg. He was arrested for a traffic law violation on the complaint of Mr. Collyer and given his liberty under bail by Justice of the Peace Cecil C. Webb, pending a hearing. Following the crash, Mr. DeGrush was taken to his home by a passing motorist and then removed to the hospital by his brother, Charles DeGrush. In addition to the brother, the victim is survived by a sister, Mrs. Eva LaPlanche, also of Lake George. The body was removed to the Woodward Funeral Home at Warrensburg and later taken to the victim's home in West Street, Lake
George. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the home, the Rev. May L. Haight, former pastor of the Warrensburg Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the North Caldwell cemetery.
