Ronald married Donna L. Smith on October 24, 1981 in Washington, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are 2 daughters, Mary Tribbett (Thomas Shafer) of Bellevue, IL., and Caryle (Mark) Thompson of Sunnyland, IL; 7 grandchildren, Jordan, Jonathan, Dillon, Trayton, Bradon, Marky and Isaac; 2 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters; Linda (Bill) Davis of Sunnyland, Anna (Jeff) Luncsford of Elmwood, IL., and Margaret (Howard) Schoenman of Creve Coeur, IL.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Howard, grandson, Devon Michael, his father Ronald C. Barnes, mother Elsie Lawrence, stepfather, Jack Lawrence and nephew Troy Davis.
Ronnie was a proud US Army Ranger veteran and belonged to the American Legion Post #100 in Washington. He worked as an over the road truck driver for many years and enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards with his family, and woodworking. Ronnie was a devoted and loving husband to Donna, taking care of her daily.
A celebration of Ronnie's life will be from 2-6 pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the American Legion Post #100, 211 Legion Rd. Washington, IL 61571. Military honors will be accorded during the celebration at 4 pm. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or to a fund for Donna's continual care, c/o CEFCU.
