CIMARRON, KANSAS - Larry L. Franks, 76, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the Shepherd's Center in Cimarron, Kansas.
Larry was born July 14, 1944 in Nevada, Missouri, the son of Verner Eugene and Mildred (McWherter) Franks. He managed Howard Johnson restaurants and worked for Stark Wholesale, based in Wichita. He also worked for Midwest Petroleum, which operated Stop 2 Shop convenience stores throughout northwest Kansas. He enjoyed RVing, camping, and traveling.
Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Myra (Marshall) Franks.
On June 28, 1970, Larry married Johnna Carroll in Fredonia, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2014.
Larry was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Orton Wilson.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Moundville, Missouri. There will be no public visitation, as cremation has taken place.
The family suggests memorials to Welborn Cemetery Association or Gray County Over 50, Inc. both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Avenue, Dodge City, Kansas, 67801.
