Earned her wings and was called home to glory on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the age of 81.

Sarah was born April 13, 1940 to Fred Odom, Sr and Etta Clay Odom in Beaumont, TX where she received her Education in the Beaumont Independent School District. She graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in 1958. She attended Lincoln Business College in Beaumont.

She loved the Lord and accepted him as her personal savior at Star Light Missionary Baptist Church where she grew up. She was a faithful member at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother, Rev. James Odom. She was an active church Board Member and a member of the choir. When she was not in attendance at Sunlight, she made it her business to fellowship at various churches wherever she was.

Sarah enjoyed reading her bible, cooking, traveling, watching movies and spending time with her grandkids and family. She loved shopping and was a sharp dresser. She was a giving person, always opening her doors to anyone in need. She would give her last dollar and the shirt off her back, if needed. She was an active member of the Seattle Senior Center and the Red Hatters. She was fond of the color Purple.

She married Charles E. Turner in Boston, MA in the early 60's and had 6 children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred Odom, Sr. & Etta Clay Odom, brothers Murray Odom, Fred Odom, Jr., Lawrence Odom, Sr. and Matthew Odom; and one child, Keitha Lynette Kemp. She is survived by one sister, Ethel Lee August of Beaumont, TX and one brother Rev James Odom (Betty) of Seattle, WA. She leaves to cherish her legacy daughter, Gayla Odom-Beavers (John) of Seattle, WA, sons Andre L. Turner (Shaunte) of Dallas, TX, Frederick Turner (Linnea) of Charlotte, NC, daughters, Stacey Renee Turner (Johnny Sr.) of Seattle, WA, and Pamela Y. Sheppard (Ira) of Columbus, GA. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Michael Jr., Carl Jr., Johnny III, Ira Jr., Donta, Ari, Donyetta, Chasity, Charles Jr., Stephanie, Shaquita, Alleyah, Brandon, Darryl, Tracyln, Chris, Brielle, Johnny, Jonelle; 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, relatives and close friends.
