A Celebration of Life for Eddie Jones will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Reverend Gregory D. Craig officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
Committal service will follow in the Community Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
Eddie, 91, of Oakdale, received the highest honor ever on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, when his Lord and Savior called him to guard. He was born November 9, 1929, in Chopin, Louisiana to the union of Sam Jones and Ora Lee Jewel Jones.
After completing high school, Eddie joined the United States Army and served in the Korea Conflict for 8 years. On April 16, 1958, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 20 years. Upon retiring from the military, he worked as a senior analyst for SOLTEX Polymer Corporation in Houston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ora Lee Jones.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 15 years, Gwendolyn Faye Hosea Jones of Oakdale; three sons, Kenneth Jones wife Denise of Beaumont, Texas, Gary Jones wife Jennifer of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Wendell Jones wife Elizabeth of Cooper, Texas; two stepchildren, Sharon Bonner of Riverview, Florida and Terrance Davis of Oakdale, Louisiana; one brother, Claudelle Jones wife Toni of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Nora Youngblood of Chicago, Illinois; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two godchildren, Ebonye Davis and Shelia Pinkston; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Gary Jones, Caleb Jones, Christian Jones, Wesley Brown, Eddie John Jones, and Kenneth Jones.
