Lt. Col. Grady Ronald Jones, age 70, of Winter Garden, Florida died on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church near Tennille, with military honors. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate, with burial in Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

Lt. Col. Jones was a native of Miami, Florida, the son of the late Thomas Rabon Jones and the late Rosa Lee Trotter Jones. He held a Masters Degree in Education. Lt. Col. Jones was a retired United States Air Force pilot with twenty years of service. He was a veteran of both the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. He was a former ROTC Instructor at Lincoln High School in Illinois and River Ridge High School in Florida.

Survivors include: his wife, Robin Harvell Jones of Winter Garden, FL; a stepdaughter, Cortney Miller and her husband Jeffrey, also of Winter Garden, FL; a stepson, Matthew E. Strossner and his wife Elizabeth of Groveland, FL; four grandchildren; a sister, Clara Lambert of Florida; and two brothers, Mike Jones of Ft. McCoy, FL and Robert Jones of Tampa, FL.
