Patricia "Sue" Cooper Lawson age 71, of Richlands, Virginia formerly of Whitewood, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 24, 1949, in Jewell Valley, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Booker and Pearl Wimmer Cooper. She was a class of 1968 graduate of Whitewood High School. She was a well-loved and highly sought-after babysitter in the Whitewood area for nearly 30 years. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parent's, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lawson; sisters, Geraldine Reed, Agnes Lester; Brothers, Charlie Cooper Mearl Cooper, Millard Cooper, Doil Cooper; In laws, Murray and Gaynell Cole Lawson.

The funeral service for Patricia "Sue" Cooper Lawson will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Troy Lester and Rev. Clyde Wimmer, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Joseph Smith, Logan Hobbs, Caitlin Cooper, Tanner, Wagner, Alex Rife, Zackary Rife, Caleb Shortt. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family will begin receiving friends at 6:00 pm at the funeral home on Friday evening.
