Barbara June Lowery Payne, 88, of Malabar, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was born in Walker County, Georgia on December 2, 1932 to the late, Herman Hall & June Stephenson Lowery and was raised in the Rock Spring area. She was of the Christian faith and was a graduate of LaFayette High School, Class of 1950. She loved traveling, spending time with her family and friends and would talk for hours to anyone who would lend an ear. She was an Artisan who loved designing jewelry to share with her loved ones and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Bruce Payne; son, Steven Riley Payne and two brothers, Herman Hall Lowery and Jason L. Lowery.
Survivors include her loving husband of more than 69 years, Robert "Bob" Payne; daughter & son-in-law, Beth & (Jose) Isasa; daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Payne; sister & brother-in-law, Angela Lowery & (Ed) McGill; sister-in-law, Peggy Lowery; 3 grandchildren and spouses, Durre & (David) Cowan, David & (Whitney) Payne and Riley Hall Payne; 3 great grandchildren, Truett Cowan, Claire Payne and Dashiell Cowan and numerous extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2021 in the LaFayette Chapel with Bro. Dean Cleghorn officiating. (The Chapel service will be lived streamed). Burial will follow in the Moon-Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
