Tecumseh - Janet Kay King, age 81, of Tecumseh passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Cambrian Assisted Living. She was born April 16, 1940 in Tecumseh, the daughter of the late Ellsworth A. and Helena M. (Schneipp) Brollier. On February 23, 1963 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Tecumseh, she married Norman Peter King, and they shared 38 years together before he passed on January 12, 2001.
Janet was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Tecumseh and their Alter Guild for several years. She retired from Herrick Hospital after 35 years as a registered nurse. In her free time, she enjoyed doing cross stitching and crocheting. Janet's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her children, Eric (Eve) King of Simpsonville, SC, Kevin (Lisa Hutchinson) King of Tecumseh and Tracy (Mark) Duncan of Port Huron; sister, Joyce Schoolmaster of Adrian; six grandchildren, Lael King, Adeline King, Kenneth (Stephanie) Bolton, Kevin King, Jr., Kendra King, and Hannah Duncan; and Connie King who has been a second daughter the past 30 years. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Irwin "Tuffy" Brollier and Irma Adams and step father, Ernest Gove
Visitation for Janet will be on Friday, June 25, 2021 from noon – 2 pm at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home with Chaplain David Cornwell officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh.
