Richard James Jensen, age 76, of Wonder Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born January 30, 1945, in Chicago, the son of Niels and Margaret (Meding) Jensen.
Richard proudly served our country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, before being Honorably Discharged. On March 6, 2006, Richard married the love of his life, Stefanija Dirzininkiene in McHenry.
Richard retired in 2007, after being a longtime member of Teamsters Local 714/727. He worked for many years as a freight handler for trade shows/conventions and was also a truck driver on movie productions. Richard enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching movies. He was a history enthusiast and loved antique cars. Richard will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Stefanija; daughters: Giedre and Gintare; and 4 grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Paul Jensen; nieces: Diane (Mike) Conway and their children: Michael, Jack, and Emma; and Kristin (Guy) Richie; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Jensen.
Visitation for Richard will be from 9-12 Noon, on Saturday, June 26, 2021, followed by Family Sharing at 12 Noon, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. Interment will follow at 2 P.M., with Military Honors, in Eden Memorial Park, 9851 Irving Park Road, Schiller Park, IL.
