Thomas M. Lyons, 86, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Alverno, Clinton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Friday, June 25, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:30AM until the service hour at the Church Friday.

The Clinton Chapel Snell Zornig Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Rylan and Rory DeValois, Amity Westphalen, Dylan Lyons, Ainsley Vatanasombat and Deven Lyons. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Vens, Bill Killeen, Elvie Hirl, John DeWitt, Jim Timmer and Ed Foster.
Burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Lyons was born October 2, 1934 in North Platte, NE, the son of Michael Joseph and Verda Catherine (Adney) Lyons.

He attended Gothenburg Public Schools before pursuing studies at Creighton University, where he received his Business Degree and Idaho State University where he received his RPh. Degree.

Thomas married Dixie Grant in 1959, she passed away in 1971.

He later married Marilyn Mask on July 1, 1972; Marilyn passed away October 31, 2019.

Their joys were family, friends, traveling, theater, reading and golf. An avid sports fan, he participated in football, basketball and track. His favorite teams were the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Creighton Blue Jays.
He was very proud of his Catholic faith and his Irish heritage.

Mr. Lyons practiced pharmacy in Washington State, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. He was senior partner with Wagner Pharmacy from 1960 – 2002.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, the Downtown Business Association, Chamber of Commerce, NARD and APHA. He also served on the boards of VNA, Varney Center, St. Patrick's Finance Committee, the Pearson Foundation, the Skyline Center, Bridgeview Mental Health and Information Referral.

Mr. Lyons is survived by his daughter, Mary (Ross) DeValois of Iowa City, sons, Michael (Susan) Lyons of Lincoln, Nebraska, Sean (Michelle McMurray) Lyons and Christopher (Amy) Lyons both of Bettendorf, grandchildren, Amity, Rylan, Rory, Dylan, Ainsley, Cerina and Deven; great-grandchildren, Norah, Beck, Ellery and Chloe and his sister, Margaret (George) Dillon of Gothenburg, NE.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, a son and his brother.
