Thomas Jeffrey "T.J." Matthews, 61, of Havana, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at home in Havana. He was born January 3, 1960 in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Cephas and Althea (Thomas) Matthews.
T.J. was a farmer, rancher and cattleman and loved the world of Rodeo. He was awarded "Pick Up Man of the Year" in 1991. He worked the stock yards in Moffett and Foster Farms. He loved his kids and grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents before mentioned.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Starting Point Ministries in Magazine with burial in Blue Mountain Cemetery, under the direction of Bulger Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at Starting Point Ministries.
TJ is survived by 2 daughters, Michelle Gentry of Magazine and Megan Austin (Zach) of Booneville; grandchildren, Brock Gentry, Grayson Austin, Emoree Austin, and one on the way Hudson Austin.
Pallbearers will be Brett Foster, Bryson Simpson, Charlie Meisner, Doug Young, John Mathews, Justin Fisher, Michael Ray, and Shawn Askins.
Honorary Pallbearers, Zach Austin, Brock Gentry and Colton Underwood.
A memorial fund has been established at Community National Bank in Booneville and Chambers Bank in Danville.
