David Louis Steele, 66, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at home.

David was born on March 13, 1954 in La Porte, IN, to David and Mary C. (Weisner) Steele.

On November 11, 1997, he married Pamela Letitia Withee who preceded him in death on November 3, 2014. Surviving are his sister, Brenda Campbell of Youngtown, AZ; nephew, Brandon (Krista) Campbell of La Porte; stepdaughter, Julia (Troy) Stroud of La Porte; 3 grandchildren, Michael (Allison) Allen of Fishers, Molly and Drew Kubaszyk of La Porte; and foster mother, Shirley Griffin of La Porte.

He was preceded by his parents; wife, Pamela Barber-Steele; and foster father, Richard Griffin.

David served in the US Army. He worked for the US Postal Service for 27 years before he retired. He was a member of the American Legion. David enjoyed collecting cars, golfing and traveling to Scotland.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Pastor Kurt D. Feneley of Springville Community Church will be officiating. Cremation has taken place.

A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
