Funeral services for Mr. Edward Gains Carter will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville with Pastor Roger Cole officiating. Burial will be held in the Cushman Cemetery.

Mr. Carter, 82, of Marksville, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his residence in Marksville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Prilla Carter; parents, Edward and Helen Carter; brother, Richard Carter; sisters, Anna "Louise" Carter, Norma Lee Socia, Betty Jean Carter, Diane Carter.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Carter III of Opelousas, Brian Keith Carter of Houma; step-sons, Acklin Boudreaux, Terry Boudreaux, Daniel Boudreaux; step-daughters, Loretta Nelton, Roxanne Cina; one brother, Willie "Bill" Carter of Big Bend; two sisters, Eunice Cole of Belledeau, Martha "Jeannette" Reynolds of Greensburg, La. and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
