A business partner with his brother John Wesley Maynard, memorial page number 228804584. They were sons of Lemuel Maynard, born in 1773 in Massachusetts, who was a son of Lemuel, memorial page number 130406133. The family relocated from New York to Tioga Co., Pa., in 1830. In 1847 he moved to Williamsport and completed his education at Dickinson Seminary. He next was employed by the Penn. RR Co. in Philadelphia and did surveying for them as well.He left after a time and began selling machinery on commission in various parts of the country. He married Miss Mary A. Crosby, a native of New York City on Aug 11, 1850. By 1860 he returned to Williamsport, began businesses, and remained there until his passing. He left his widow with four children : Louisa, Ransom C., John W. and Encie E.
