Mr. Jerry Thurman, age 60, of Cedartown passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

He was born on March 23, 1961 in Centre, Alabama to the late John and Dovie Hunter Thurman. He was avid fan of Drag Racing and always up for a good fishing trip. He spent many years working as a handyman always able to help anyone and fix anything. He cherished his time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Dovie Thurman; sister, Joyce Thurman, and brothers Jack and David Thurman.
Mr. Thurman is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janice Thurman; son, Derrick Lentz, Jerry Thurman, daughter and son in law, Crystal & Tad Stringer; grandchildren, Seth Stringer, Ethan Stringer, Jessie Mae Lentz, and Christian Thurman; sisters, Mildred Gilmore and Jean Thurman; brothers, Willis, Jimmy, James, and Alfred Thurman. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Services to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Starnes officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and donations be made to the funeral home to help offset the expenses.
