Gail Thompson of Memphis entered the gates of Heaven on June 19 at the age of 85. She was born on October 30, 1935, in San Diego, CA. Gail passed away peacefully at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN.

Gail adored and loved her family and many friends beyond measure. She will be greatly missed. Gail was a faithful, charter member of Kingsway Christian Church. She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout her life. Gail grew up in a military family and graduated from high school in Yokohama, Japan. She was active in the Duration Fine Arts Club, Kirby Woods Garden Club, Meals on Wheels delivery and many other social organizations.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta and Ellis Georgia; her husband, Robert Frank Thompson, Jr.; her sister, Beverly Butcher; her son, Bryan Douglas Thompson and her infant granddaughter, Jennifer Margaret Gail Thompson.

Gail leaves her sons, Steven Thompson, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Memphis, Robert (Bob) Frank Thompson III of Little Rock; her sister, Barbara Hawkins of Springfield, VA; her brother, Ellis Georgia, Jr., of St. Augustine, FL and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves six grandchildren: Steven Thompson, Jr. (Sally) of Birmingham, AL, Christopher Thompson of Memphis, Clayton Thompson (Molly) of Richmond, VA, Katherine Thompson of Birmingham, AL, Mason Thompson of Los Angeles, CA and Natalie Thompson of Little Rock, AR. Gail also has two beloved great grandsons, Steven "Trey" Thompson III and John Williamson Thompson.

Visitation will be at Canale Funeral Directors in Memphis on Friday, June 25, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. There will be a Christian graveside service on Saturday, June 26 at 11:00 am, Halls Cemetery, Halls, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials please be sent to Kingsway Christian Church, 7887 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN 38138.
