Carol Ann Nelson, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Carol was born Sept. 23, 1951, in rural Mill Spring, Missouri to Roy Everett and Rosie Margaret Wilson Nelson. She was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, and was a retired factory worker. Carol enjoyed quilting, gardening, and canning alongside her mother, and spending time with her large family, most of whom she considered as her children.

Carol is survived by two sisters, Donna Pinner (Buddy) of Poplar Bluff, and Emmilea Riggs (Chuck) of Kennett, Missouri; one brother, Donald "Bo" Roy Nelson of Poplar Bluff; her aunt, Alice Christian of Bismarck, Missouri; two uncles, Russell Wilson of Piedmont and Frances Wilson of Farmington; eight nieces and nephews, Tonya Landrum (Mike), Jason Nelson, Tracey Nelson, Nancy George (Heath), Daniel Riggs (Melanie), Stephen Riggs (Andrea), Ryan Nelson (Melanie), Eric Nelson (Chelsea); fifteen great-nieces and nephews, Nelson, Caleb, and Joshua Landrum, McKenzie Hall, Jonas and Lucas Hopper, Finnley and Sawyer George, Rayse and Korben Riggs and Story, Stella, Sterling, Camryn and Cooper Nelson; and one great-great-niece Gracelynn Landrum.

Carol was preceded by her parents, brother, Ronald "BoBo" Everett Nelson, and four uncles.

A private graveside service will be Thursday at Carson Hill Cemetery near Mill Springs, Missouri in Wayne County. The Rev. Keith Luke will officiate.
