Terry Sylvan Snyder, of Lawton, Oklahoma, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Terry was born in Newfoundland, Canada on June 1, 1955 to H. W. and Verda (Ruger) Snyder. He grew up in Homestead, Florida, where he met his future wife, Lori Stewart. They were married in 1975. Terry enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1976, and the same year welcomed their first daughter, Heather. Soon after, Terry was stationed abroad in Germany, and in 1981 welcomed their second baby girl, Hillary. The family of four returned to the U.S. in 1982, and soon after welcomed their youngest daughter, Holly. SFC Terry Snyder's distinguished career in the U.S. Army gave him an opportunity to be a recruiter in West Virginia for three years before his last duty station at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He loved his family and his country. He was a soldier's soldier. His work ethic, drive, and leadership have left a legacy.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Verda and Edward Kruse and H.W. Snyder, his sister, Janice Gjerdahl, and his middle daughter, Hillary.

Terry is survived by his daughters, Heather Allen and husband, Robby Allen of Arcadia, Oklahoma and Holly Snyder of Lawton, Oklahoma, three granddaughters, Jocelyn Banks, Alexis Allen, and Katelyn Craig, three grandsons, Colin Allen, Preston Banks and Braydon Craig, his friend and caregiver Ursula Otero-Stephens.
