Emma Louise Smith (Big Soldier) 85, of Perkins, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2021. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Iowa Tribe Chena Building with burial to follow at Kent Family Cemetery.
Born on August 18, 1935 in Pawnee, OK to Jacob Big Soldier Sr and Rachel (Kent) Big Soldier she was the oldest of 6 children the others being Joann Mayes, Joyce Miller, Jacob Big Soldier Jr, Eugene Big Soldier and Linda Big Soldier all of the Perkins-Tryon area. After attending Perkins-Tryon Schools she worked at the Iowa Tribe as a dispatcher, librarian and the Bah-Kho Je Gift Shop. She was married to Danny Smith for 40 years.
Although she loved garage sales, sewing fishing, shopping, pow wows and casinos her greatest love was her family. Louise was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother and she always put others before herself. Her love for the Lord was greatly known.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and sons Kenneth, Quinton, Brian, Stephen and Eric Wood.
Survivors include her husband Danny, one daughter Robyne and Don Don. Additional survivors are grandchildren Suzan and William, Melissa, David, Brandy and Danny, Chris and Lorena, Eric and Brandi, Erin, Eli, Elena and Dillon, Kaylon, Josh, Rachel and Damon and Zethan. Also, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren Brianna, Tristyn, Myla, Izaiah, Skyler, Ezra, Kyerra, Gianna, Xzavier, Izaiah, Noah, EJ, Hays, Nate, Kinsley, Kaden, Hendrix, Karsyn Jo, Paxton, Amari, Brody, Braden and Camreigh.
